Description
Going into a hypnosis state is a natural form of deep relaxation which we go into every day. The most common times are as we fall asleep or daydream.
In a hypnotherapy setting, by being facilitated to go into this deeper state, we can make powerful, long-standing changes as this allows us to better communicate with the subconscious mind, the part of us that runs all our hidden beliefs about ourselves and our experiences as well as our repeated behavioural patterns.
Unlike the popular perception, hypnosis is not a way for another to extract any information they want or get a participant to do things against their will. In fact, the client is always in control and has the ability to snap out of the hypnosis state if they so needed to. By having a hypnotherapy session with Rachel, you will get to establish what it is you wish to focus on and set the perimeters and that will always be honoured.
With Rachel’s gentle and calming voice, you will be guided to enter a deeply relaxed state and the new set of desired behaviours you have worked together to focus on will be put over to the subconscious mind to adopt with suggestions to release those that are no longer helpful in your desired outcome using simple statements, guided visualisation and associative anchors to help your new behaviours or responses to be accessible to you in your fully alert state.
The number of sessions that will be needed will vary greatly on the desired outcome: how simple or complex the issue or desired outcome is, how integral it is in a client’s life and most importantly the receptivity and emotional capacity to change by the client themselves. Change can be a scary process and Rachel will gently guide each client at the pace and level they can realistically manage.
Rachel qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist in 2016 with Serene Mind & Body Complementary Therapy Centre & Training College accredited by the British Association of Hypnotherapy. She has helped clients on a range of goals including smoking cessation, lucid dreaming and overcoming trust issues in relationships. Sessions last one hour and there is an option to work in person or over video call, this is completely down to you.
